PARROTHEADS! 🦜 Jimmy's Legacy - Panama Rex [Extended Interview] 🌴
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since we lost Jimmy. Not a day goes by that I’m not singing one of his songs.
On February 14, 1977, from his 7th album Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, he released Margaritaville—and the rest is history. In 2011, my daughter Mia introduced me to Jimmy’s music, and I was instantly hooked. I even turned my classic rock band into a Jimmy Buffett cover band and haven’t stopped playing his songs since.
With over 40 of his songs in my head, I can create my own paradise anytime, anywhere. Jimmy’s Legacy captures a small piece of his story—starting with him finding his Margaritaville, reflecting on who he was, and looking ahead to the future of Parrot Heads. Fittingly, the song ended up being one minute for every ten years of his incredible career.
Enjoy, and feel free to share how Jimmy’s music has touched your life.
Aloha!
